Salsa
Brass that bites and a clave that won't let go. The style everyone falls for first — sharp turns, sharper horns, hips that don't ask permission.
Anchorage, Alaska · Est. on Cuban rhythm
Havana's rhythm melts Alaska's frost. Salsa, Cuban casino, bachata, merengue and reggaeton cubano — one room, one beat, all night.
907salsa is Anchorage's home for Cuban music and Latin dance — built by people who miss the island and want to share it. No matter the wind chill outside, inside it's Havana on a Wednesday night: real Cuban casino, unapologetic reggaeton, and a dance floor that doesn't care how cold it is out there.
The sound
Brass that bites and a clave that won't let go. The style everyone falls for first — sharp turns, sharper horns, hips that don't ask permission.
The original wheel. Rueda de Casino turns the whole room into one moving circle — partners swapped on a shouted call, chaos that somehow always lands in time.
Slow, close, and unbothered by the cold outside. Guitar riffs that ache, hips that answer back — this one is built for the last hour of the night.
Fast, simple, impossible to sit through. Two steps and a spin — merengue is the style that gets even the shy ones out of their chair.
Havana's own take on the genre — heavier bass, dirtier drums, none of the radio-friendly polish. This is reggaeton with a cigar in its mouth.
Our DJs run the best music selection in Anchorage — deep-cut Cuban classics, current Latin hits, and reggaeton heat, mixed by people who actually grew up on this music, not an algorithm.
Wednesdays
Every Wednesday, 6:40 – 8:00 PM. Come for the dancing, stay for the language exchange — or the other way around. Beginners are not just welcome, they're the whole point.
Spanish and English, side by side. Trade phrases over Cuban music with people who'll actually use them with you on the dance floor twenty minutes later.
Salsa, Cuban casino, bachata and merengue, taught from the ground up — rhythm, footwork, partnering, and the confidence to walk onto any floor after.
Class ends, the music doesn't. Stick around, put the steps to work, and let the DJ take it from here.
No partner needed. No experience needed. Just show up Wednesday.
